Look Development Artist
How did you get started at Disney Animation?

I studied Computer Animation at Ringling College of Art + Design. After about 2 years of freelancing and working at Reel FX, I landed the Apprenticeship program at Disney and started as a Look Development trainee for Frozen.

Tell us about your role at Disney Animation.

As a Look Development artist, I paint textures, create materials, and add in all the intricate details to CG assets like stitching, embroidery, hair grooming, etc. I started Disney doing mostly environments and now I primarily work on characters. We work closely with other departments like modeling, hair/cloth simulation, and lighting to help achieve the art direction of the film.

What do you like about working at Disney Animation?

The individuals at Disney Animation inspire me and help me grow to be a better artist. I really admire the energy, spirit and passion of all my colleagues.

What was your favorite Disney movie growing up, and why?

As a kid, I loved Sleeping Beauty and 101 Dalmatians for the beautiful style and artistry. For the animation and music, Aladdin was my favorite.

Where do you draw creative inspiration from?

My love for maximalism, bold prints and textiles, vibrant colors, mixing of patterns is rooted in my Indian cultural upbringing. This not only influenced my personal aesthetic but it's what inspired me to pursue art.
