Filmmaking Process

The Casting Director collaborates with our filmmakers to match them with actors who can breathe life into their characters. In some cases, the Casting team will begin working with the Director before there is even a script, to bring forth talent who might inspire ideas in development.

Casting provides talent for temporary dialogue known as "scratch," then again for production dialogue. The process usually includes table reads, extensive searches, scouting at festivals, clubs and showcases, auditions, and general meetings with actors. Casting will often continue through post-production to add voices to characters that have been created late in the process or for lines that have been re-written.

Casting works closely with Business Affairs & Legal to make offers and negotiate deals with talent representation to secure actors for the voiceover of our characters. Once recording is complete, the Casting team works year-round to maintain relationships with talent and their agents/managers.
