DISNEY ANIMATION
DISNEY ANIMATION CAREERS
The Post Production team is an essential component of the storytelling process, shaping the film from its inception all the way through to final delivery. The department includes Editorial, Music Editorial, Sound, and Color Timing and covers a vast range of responsibilities from early development tone reels to voiceover recording to mixing the film in Dolby Atmos and coloring for 2D and 3D landscapes.
In animation, there is no sound recorded from a live set. Our Sound Designers, Dialogue Editors, and Foley Artists, often hailing from the likes of Skywalker Sound, build every single sound you hear in our film from scratch. With a world as creative as Zootopia, there is a lot to cover from ginormous hooves, miniature claws, and rustling wool to tire screeches, punches and kicks.
Once Production and ADR Recording is wrapped, Sound Design is built, and the Composer has scored the film, the mix stage is where it all comes together into a perfectly balanced sonic experience. Our Re-Recording Mixers weave each sound effect, line of dialogue, and music cue seamlessly together for both clarity and emotion. These artists immerse the audience into the world – making big action scenes feel epic, and heart to heart conversations feel intimate.
Another key element of Post Production is Color and Digital Imaging. Our Colorist works with the Directors, Production Designer, VFX Supervisors and Director of Cinematography to hone the stunning look of our film. From the orange of Nick’s fur to the pink of a stolen Hogrod, each element of a sequence is a detailed piece of art. Not only is the color space and picture quality built for what you see in theaters, but for every version and format of our film.
